Calling Green Fingers for the Fota House Plant & Garden Fair

Calling Green Fingers for the Fota House Plant & Garden Fair

Join us on Sunday 14th April 2019

for our annual Fota House Plant & Garden Fair from 11.00am to 4.00pm.  The Fota Plant & Garden Fair is one of the highlights of the gardening calendar and is the largest Plant and Garden Fair outside the Dublin area.

Specialist nurseries from all over Ireland are joining us, giving visitors the opportunity to take home unusual and special plants. Selections include rare trees, shrubs, alpine, herbaceous and water plants at competitive prices and advice from the plant specialists comes at no extra charge! Shop in the spring sunshine for garden furniture, pots, sculptures, ornaments and tools, everything you need for the garden this year.

The competition for the most attractive stand takes place again this spring, who will be crowned the 2019 winner of the Brian Cross Perpetual Trophy?! Our roll call of previous winners includes Hillside Nurseries, Rare Plants Ireland and Future Forests.

“This year we are delighted to also focus on sustainability, biodiversity and education,” said Victoria Tammadge, General Manager, Fota House Arboretum and Gardens. “We will be joined by some third level researchers who use the gardens for field work and who will be sharing information on their findings on ladybirds and bird ringing. We will have stalls on composting and educational courses and visitors can enjoy our award winning Victorian Working Garden.”

Do not miss this event, it’s a must for all those with an interest in gardening! Volunteers from both Fota House and Friends of Marymount Hospice will help us run the fair, sincere thanks for all their efforts.

Admission only €8.00 including parking. Food stalls will be on site at the event, along with Bakestone Café serving up their usual treats in the main House.

Your ticket for this event helps directly with the continued conservation and restoration of Fota House Arboretum & Gardens, thank you! Our annual donation to Marymount will be presented after the event.
